Daniel Ribiero
Daniel was in theater class with me for two years of high school, playing Danforth to my Parris in The Crucible and Demetrius to my Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He dropped out of drama my senior year but agreed to play Mutius in the first production of The Escapist. He was very tall and scary in his black robes and white mask. His hand signals for the character were very clean, abrupt and somehow lent him and even more eerie quality, especially under the stark blue light of the play. As a friend, Dan Ribiero was a pretty cool guy, and actually the first person I ever got drunk with. Where he is now, I know not, but the hood from his lock is still with me and the robe he wore later got remodeled in the mourning gown for Ximene in Quicksilver’s production of Le Cid.
