Daphne Stanford
Of all the women at Reed who should have played a jazz girl in Wild Blue Peaks, Daphne Stanford was by far and away the most qualified, mostly due to her daily wardrobe. However, she only made one appearance in a work of mine (not counting the occasional Midnight Theater cameo), dancing in the original production of The Vampire Sorority Babes vs. The Inter-Galactic Frat Zombies: A Ballet. Like most of the women in the show, it was one of the few times anyone had gotten to see them in a short skirt, and just like most of the women in the show, Daphne didn't fail to be a much more talented dancer than anyone would have imagined. These days she's married and teaching, living somewhere in the Midwest, from which she occasionally e-mails us all about what books we've been reading. Her fingers are all double-jointed at the knuckles, which makes her both a very good pianist, and a fairly convincing wood nymph.
